Welcome, from the members of the Ozark Empire Military Officers Association of America (OEMOAA). Our chapter serves retired, reserve, active duty, and former military officers and their spouses who live in the Springfield, Mo., area.

The purpose of OEMOAA is:

  • To educate our members and the public, to help promote and support our great nation and its constitution.
  • To aid active and retired service members and their dependents and survivors, in every proper and legitimate manner.
  • To inform representatives in local, state and the federal governments when legislation of military interest are under consideration.
  • To foster social and fraternal relations between all branches of the various services from which our members are drawn.

OEMOAA hosts a dinner meeting each month at the Mid-America Cancer Center, which is located at 2055 E. Fremont Ave. in Springfield. These meetings give us an opportunity to socialize and learn more about some of the important issues military members face.    index photo.jpg (13835 bytes)

Last year, our chapter marked its 35th anniversary. We also hosted a number of interesting speakers at our monthly meetings, including Dan Emrie, a combat photographer during the Vietnam War; Dr. Bill Van Cleve, director of defense and strategic studies at Missouri State University in Springfield; and U.S. Rep. Roy Blunt.

In addition to the other information you'll find on this Web site, our chapter also publishes a monthly newsletter. The newsletter helps keep members informed about events going on within the chapter, as well as issues that affect military retirees at the local and state level.

If you live in or near the Springfield area or are planning to move here, come to one of our monthly chapter meetings. Regardless of which branch of the service you served in, you can count on getting a warm welcome, so stop by sometime. We'd love to meet you.

If you would like to join OEMOAA, just click for a membership form.
